Aims and objectives
Fire Safety course aims at providing your staff with a basic understanding of the threats posed by fire, on how to avoid a fire starting and on recognising the action to be taken in the event of a fire. These courses will help fulfil their obligations under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Following the course the attendees will learn:
- How to confidently use a fire extinguisher
- How to take the correct action when finding a fire or hearing an alarm
- How to make sure the workplace meets workplace fire safety law
- About fire prevention, evacuation, practical firefighting skills
Maximum of 12 attendees per instructor
This qualification is delivered as a half-day programme (3 hours). We are flexible with starting times to meet your needs.
This course is delivered via a range of techniques including;
- Instructor led presentation
- Group practice
- Group discussion
- DVD presentation
This course is subject to ongoing assessment by the instructor throughout the course. There is no final assessment. The instructor observes attendees practice sessions as the training progresses to ensure the required level of understanding.
All successful attendees will be awarded a certificate recommended by the Health & Safety Executive (HSE).
What do I need to host this course on site?
A room that will comfortably seat the amount of attendees and allow for floor practice for the duration of the course.
